My 2019 Goals and How I Plan to Achieve Them

Hi! Welcome back to my blog and happy 2019!

I always love the idea of a new year and being able to reevaluate things and set new goals. Okay okay, I’m fully aware that I’m the exact same on January 1st than I was December 31, but I still find it fun! You can start working on goals any day of the week and year, but there’s just something about the first day of a brand new year that fills me with excitement and wonder and I can’t help but start working towards goals starting then.

Now, I’ve made goals in the past but I’ve never really been able to judge whether or not I’ve accomplished them at the end of the year because they’ve been so vague. In 2017 one of my goals was to “do more good.” How can you judge that? This year instead of vague resolutions, I’m setting goals that are concrete and, come December, I’ll know for sure if I achieved them or not.

1. RUN A 10K

Since September, I’ve gotten into running a lot more. I ran my first 5K in November which was a really big accomplishment because I used to barely be able to even run one mile. I want to continue to push myself and get to the next race level, a 10K, before the end of the year!

2. READ AT LEAST 5 BOOKS

I know to some people this number is extremely low, but I’m just not a big reader. Every year I say I want to read more but with an actual number, I’ll be able to gauge my success.  If I read more than 5 books this year, then my 2020 goal will be a higher number!

3. EAT A SALAD AT LEAST 4 TIMES A WEEK

Salads are one of my favorite ways to get my vegetables in. I much rather prefer raw veggies than steamed or cooked.  So, instead of just saying I want to eat healthier, I am setting a goal of eating 4 salads per week.

HOW DO I PLAN TO ACHIEVE MY GOALS?

Bullet Journaling! I am going to set up trackers in my bullet journal (which I got for Christmas) to track how many books I’ve read, to track how many salads I’ve eaten each week, and to track my progress with running. Seeing everything written out on paper will constantly remind me and motivate me to keep at it and achieve my goals!

I am so excited to see what this new year brings, and whether or not I succeed with my 3 goals. I hope you all have a happy and healthy 2019!
