5 Ways to Live Healthy This Summer

Hello, everyone!

Summer is just around the corner, which usually gets us thinking about trying to live a healthier lifestyle. School ends, things tend to wind down, and you have more time to work on yourself!

Today I have 5 tips for you to live a healthier lifestyle this summer!

1. Drink more water

Drinking water is really good for you, and most people aren’t drinking the minimum recommended amount! Try to aim for 8 glasses each day. It even will help your skin out which is always a nice plus!

2. Sign up for group classes at the gym

Working out alone can be boring, and you may not be as motivated to go. Instead, try group classes! Even if you don’t know anyone there, it still is a lot of fun, and a great workout! I have been going to a lot since I’ve gotten home from school and have really been enjoying them.

3. Find little ways to be more active

Little things such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or standing at your desk for a bit instead of sitting the entire day can be really beneficial! Small adjustments in your daily life can have a much bigger impact than you’d expect. Keeping your mind focused on being more healthy and active can really help you!

4. Don’t diet, eat smart

Diets just don’t work. Trying to completely alter your eating habits can be really hard, and if you’re anything like me, you won’t last very long. Instead just try to eat things in moderation, and slowly work your way towards eating perfectly clean. I know I probably won’t ever get there but I try my best to have as much of a balanced diet as I can get.

5. Treat yourself every now and then

What I usually do is try to eat as healthy as I can during the week, and then over the weekend, I don’t think as much about what I’m eating. This personally works for me because I’m not trying to lose weight or anything drastic, I’m just trying to live healthier. If you are trying to notice major changes faster, try treating yourself to unhealthy food less often, such as once a month, and then increase even more.

Obviously I’m not a nutritionist or personal trainer, however, these are the kinds of things I do to try and live a healthier life, especially this summer when I’m home from school.
